Every child deserves to grow up free from fear, exploitation and violence. Yet, child marriage, child trafficking and child sexual abuse continue to rob thousands of children of their childhood, dignity and future. Child marriage, in particular, remains one of the gravest violations of a girl's rights, exposing her to abuse, interrupted education, poor health and lifelong inequality.
To address these critical child protection challenges, Ruchika implements the Access to Justice for Children programme across the districts of Khordha, Puri, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur and Subarnpur in Odisha. The programme works to prevent child marriage, combat child trafficking, respond to child sexual abuse, and ensure that every child has access to protection, justice and rehabilitation. Working in close partnership with the District Administrations, law enforcement agencies, Child Welfare Committees and community institutions, Ruchika strengthens child protection systems through prevention, rescue, legal support, rehabilitation, community awareness and capacity building. By empowering communities and reinforcing government mechanisms, the programme is creating safer environments where children are protected, their voices are heard, and their rights are upheld. Together, we are building a future where every child can grow, learn and thrive with dignity, safety and hope.
